Ceremonies, Wedding Breakfasts & Receptions

Marquee:

• Our luxury self contained marquee accommodates 200 guests maximum in a perfect blank canvas which can be styled to your wish.
• Exclusive views of the Union Chain Bridge and the River Tweed whilst enjoying drinks on the front lawn.
• Choose from a variety of food options such as buffet suppers, BBQ’s, three course meals or afternoon teas, all catered to your specifications by Paxton’s in house catering team or an external caterer of your own choice.

Grand Rooms & House:

• Grand Rooms accommodating up to 150 guests, with different settings available in different rooms for smaller ceremonies, receptions and wedding breakfasts for a maximum of 60 guests across the ground floor of Paxton House.
• Choose from the grandeur of Scotland’s largest private Picture Gallery (maximum 120 guests), luxuriously intimate Dining Room (maximum 40 guests), the stunning Front Hall (maximum 20 guests), the cosy Library (maximum 30 guests) or the versatile Hayloft Gallery (maximum 60 guests).
• Use of our stunning Steinway Piano is included in the hire price of The Picture Gallery with the space providing fantastic acoustics for music.
• Enjoy the freedom of hiring the whole of the first floor of Paxton House and use different rooms for your ceremony, drinks reception and wedding breakfast.
• Hire prices for our Grand Rooms and the house differ between summer and winter seasons to allow for that extra bit of flexibility.

Gardens:

• Wedding ceremony and/or drinks reception for up to 150 guests maximum with views from our beautifully manicured gardens over the River Tweed and Union Chain Bridge, the perfect back drop to any wedding photo.
• Use of our lovely gardens do not incur any additional cost to room hire and we reserve the right to move your wedding party to any available room, also at no additional cost, should the weather be unsuitable on the day.

Riverside:

• Our charming and secluded Victorian Boat House accommodates 35 guests in a unique and rustic setting on the banks of the River Tweed, perfect for smaller gatherings.
• Use our stunning poplar tree avenue as your aisle.
• Enjoy alfresco BBQ’s, canapes and cold buffets whilst taking in the wonderful unspoiled views down the River Tweed towards the Union Chain Bridge.

Elopement Ceremony:

• Wedding boat of a maximum of 5 guests (including the bride and groom)
• Intimate wedding ceremony out on the waters of the River Tweed in one of our traditional coble boats; say your vows under the Union Chain Bridge, the ultimate romantic experience
